Ii bought this binocular because of my experience with other Swarovski optics. I needed a compact binocular but everything I looked at was just not bright enough or clear enough to bother with. After trying the compact Swarovski's I didn't hesitate to pay the rather hefty price these optics demand. The image seen through the Swarovski's is clear, sharp and bright. My only complaint is that they are made in 8x magnification. A 6x would be both adequate and appropriate for this size lens and would have been even brighter. You really can't hold steady enough with an 8x binocular to use the available magnification. I guess the bigger is better syndrome demands binoculars to be made in magnifications greater than is really useful. This is also true of my 8x50mm Swarovski binoculars as well, but the extra weight does help to dampen the unsteady image a bit more. Other than my personal feelings on magnification, I couldn't be happier with this product. I have an easy to carry high quality binocular in my pocket or butt pack when ever I go traveling, hiking or kayaking.
