I must admit that I was skeptical about this scope at first but now I'm a believer. The fiber-optic illumination (red triangle) works very well and is very friendly on the eye. I own several high-end powered red-dot and holographic optics that tend to stress-out my eye after a couple hours of shooting. Not the accupoint, the solar illumination is far superior to its powered counterparts (in my opinion). The battery free self illuminating fiber-optic reticle is really the only reason to purchase this scope, if you don't want that then you can save yourself some money on other optics. The glass is pretty good, although there is a touch of distortion, most people didn't even notice it until I mentioned it to them. I definitely own less expensive scopes with better clarity than the accupoint, however, this is a non-issue because the difference doesn't effect how I shoot or performance in any way. The tritium night sight works, as best I can tell, although I don't have much use for it at this time. The accupoint is quite a bit pricier compared to other popular scopes, you can easily find a non-illuminated scope that is just as clear if not better for about half the price. The difference, as I said, is the self illuminating reticle. If you don't want that then save yourself the money. Personally, I'm so impressed with it that I'm considering getting another accupoint, maybe a 3x9 or 5x20 with green mildot crosshair.
