Sony scored a winning touchdown with their SLT-A65 camera, and the kit allows the purchaser to get down to pursuing making really great photographs. My former 1st string digital camera was a Konica-Minolta A200 purchased in 2004. I wasn't ready for a full-on DSLR at the time, but wanted really good photos and a camera that was smart enough to select appropriate settings and programmed set-ups for various photographic circumstances. The KM has been a very good camera, in spite of only having an 8MP capability. I could shoot in RAW or jpeg or combo and photoshop to really great printed results. I was ready for the next step, but didn't want to take a baby step, wanted a huge leap. After much research, I settled on the Sony SLT-A65 camera as my new 1st stringer. I will continue to use the A200 for my business camera.

The new Sony..... Boy is it a great camera, and it has super IQ to boot. Incredible photos right out of the box. I put them into photoshop, and try to optimize them, but there is little to nothing that photoshop finds to optimize. Apparently, this camera does a great job of selecting all the settings optimally, all by itself. Have bought Jason Youn's 99c photography guide and David Busch's book on the SLT-A65 camera and will soon undertake exploring using the camera with manual control of exposure, focus etc. I'm gonna enjoy the ride a bunch.
