I had been looking for a Mission-style media cabinet for quite a while to match our other home furniture and finally found this gorgeous piece. Amazon was out of stock, but I was able to buy it online at One Way Furniture. I received an enormous discount for buying the item between 5-7pm during a weekday, which came as a complete surprise to me and might have been just a fluke on that particular day, and I also used an online coupon I found for another ten percent discount. Free shipping too! The cabinet looks just as lovely in my home as it does on the website's and Amazon's photos. It was simple, although somewhat time-consuming, to put together - but I'm not as young as I used to be either. The instructions could not have been more helpful and I was amazed at how cleverly the manufacturer designed this product to fit together. It did help to have a small power drill in the house for the many screws necessary to secure the 4 sliding glass doors, but as stated, the process was easy using the directions provided.

The cabinet arrived in 3 large boxes - one of which was damaged by UPS. I called One Way Furniture's customer service, gave them the identification numbers on the two damaged items, and received replacements in a few days - no questions asked. I was very pleased, to say the least. We have a very large film and TV collection on DVD which I painstakingly transferred to slim DVD cases for storage purposes. Initially, they occupied every single book shelf in the living room - I was lucky to have those. The new media cabinet houses all of the DVDs perfectly, with much room to spare for CDs, and other materials or memorabilia one might want to display.

The cabinet itself is not as lengthy as I thought it would be, but it does occupy about half of a standard-sized wall and the best part is that it is only about nine inches deep, which is what initially sold me immediately as I couldn't have it protruding much at all. It's really quite perfect. I have seen other items like this one for a couple of thousand dollars or more. Although the Leslie Dame media cabinet is not solid wood, it's not plastic either - nor is it cheaply made. It's probably particle board with wood veneer and does look exactly like my other solid wood mission furniture. The sliding glass doors add elegance to the entire piece. It's as solid as a rock.

The 8 sheets of glass are real and were very well-packaged, but one needs to be cautious when lifting them and placing them into their rectangular spaces on the backs of the doors. I spread out each door on the floor to work on them more easily. On the bottom of each door, two wheel units fit right into their predrilled areas and they need to be secured with screws. At the top of each door, instead of more wheels, there are latches that also fit and are screwed-in the same way. A door is then lifted and its wheels are placed onto its own wheel track that runs along the bottom of the media cabinet's bottom panel. Once the wheels are in place, the latch units at the top of each door are then placed under the top tracking and the latches pop up with the push of a button to lock-in each door which can now glide along the tracks with ease.

This purchase was a perfect choice for us. I highly recommend Leslie Dame products for media (or any collection) storage needs. There are choices galore in terms of sizes and styles. A very practical and attractive investment.
